Asking prices for a business in Mauritius, sector by sector

We counted what is publicly on sale in Mauritius today. It is a real market with real prices, and most of it is not the transaction an established SME is doing.

For an owner or a buyer looking for a comparable price. Checked 12 September 2026. Information, not advice.

What is publicly on sale, counted

These are counts we read off the pages ourselves on 12 September 2026. They move week to week. Two of the three sources put a human check in front of the page, so a link may ask you to tick a box first.

Where this comes from

  • Propertycloud lists 24 premises-and-goodwill businesses in Mauritius, with asking prices from about Rs 1.3M to Rs 54M.

    Propertycloud, businesses for sale

Caveat: Several of those prices include the building itself, so they are not comparable with each other, let alone with a share deal.

  • Lexpress Property lists 31 businesses in the same category, topping out around Rs 46M.

    Lexpress Property

Caveat: Largely the same agent inventory as Propertycloud, so the two counts overlap and must not be added together.

  • SMERGERS shows 87 Mauritian businesses for sale or investment, most without a published price.

    SMERGERS, Mauritius

Caveat: Listings are self-entered and unverified, and the figures are stated in dollars rather than rupees.

Most of those prices are a different deal

A premises-and-goodwill sale moves the lease, the fittings, the stock and the trade name. A share deal moves the company itself, with its registry number, its accounts, its contracts and its payroll.

Both are legitimate and the first one is well served in Mauritius. They simply do not price the same way, and nothing on those pages tells you which one you are reading.

That is the whole reason Blue Mango exists. A restaurant group with twenty staff and filed accounts belongs here. A single counter sold with its lease belongs on the sites above, and they do that job well.

Sector by sector, what the public pages cover

Read this as a map of where public supply sits today, not as a price table. The sectors below are the ones we could see described on the listing pages themselves.

  • Retail units and stock-in-trade, the most common category by count on the property portals.
  • Restaurants and food outlets, several in the north around Grand Baie.
  • Gyms, wellness and beauty premises.
  • Mixed commercial buildings bundling several trades with guesthouse rooms above.
  • On SMERGERS instead: warehousing, financial services, information technology and enterprise software, education franchising, cosmetics.
  • Barely visible anywhere: manufacturing, logistics and freight, engineering, distribution, business process outsourcing — the companies with the payrolls.

The one share-deal figure we could actually see

Across every public source, we found a single Mauritian share-deal price stated openly. A Port Louis financial-services business asked USD 2.5M for a 40% stake.

One data point is not a benchmark and we will not dress it up as one. It is here because it shows how little of this market is visible.

Where this comes from

  • A Port Louis financial-services business listed a 40% stake at USD 2.5M, implying about USD 6.25M for the whole.

    SMERGERS, Mauritius

Caveat: Self-declared by the seller, unverified by the platform, and a minority stake rather than a whole company.

An asking price is not a sold price

Every figure on this page is what someone hopes to get. The number that would actually help you is what the last comparable company sold for, and in Mauritius nobody publishes that.

We are collecting it the only honest way. When a Seller marks a Listing sold, we ask two optional questions: the final price band and how long the sale took.

Where our own benchmark stands today

Blue Mango has no sector benchmark of its own yet, because our Listings are only now going live. Publishing a table built on three companies would be worse than publishing nothing.

This page fills as verified Listings arrive: turnover, staff, region and asking price, by sector, with the date each one cleared the Admission check.

Until then, treat the counts above as the honest state of the public market, and treat any Mauritian multiple you are quoted as unsourced.

Two doors

The first ten companies list free for 6 months, and 10 places are left. Buyers pay nothing at any point.
