- A registered company with a BRN, two years of accounts, turnover from Rs 12M and employees on payroll.
- Building, civil, electrical, mechanical or technical services work executed under contract.
- Registrations, qualified staff and an order book that outlast the owner's involvement.
What does not belong here
Plant, a yard or a builder's premises sold with a lease and no company behind it. Equipment and premises are a different transaction and other sites serve it.
What to ask beyond the admission check
- Contractor registration and grading, and what happens to it when the shares change hands.
- The order book: signed contracts, values, stage of completion, and retentions held.
- Performance bonds and guarantees outstanding, and who has given them.
- Claims and disputes, open or threatened, on completed work.
